Penndot Issues in Pennsylvania

Along with the criminal penalties of a Dui are the separate, but equally significant civil penalties that accompany a criminal conviction for DUI.  Under Pennsylvania law, the Court is required to notify the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation when you have been convicted of a traffic or criminal violation including a conviction for driving while under the influence.  Your license will be impacted by a dui conviction or a refusal to perform a sobriety test.

Upon receipt, Penndot has the authority to suspend your license from any where from twelve (12) months to sixty (60) months depending on the number of violations on your record within a ten (10) year period and the seriousness of the charge.  Don’t wait to lose your license and your ability to maintain a job and support your family.  In the event of a second offense, you may be required to use ignition interlock after your mandatory drivers’ license suspension.
